Work Experience

Work experience offers a range of valuable benefits for children and young people, allowing them to gain insight into the world of work within a real-life environment. At Bursledon Schools, we are committed to supporting students from other schools and colleges who wish to undertake their work experience with us.
Placements are offered on a "first come, first served" basis, and we make every effort to accommodate as many students as possible.

As safeguarding is a top priority at our school, we have established clear systems and procedures for managing work experience placements to ensure they are effective and secure. Below is a 3-step procedure for anyone interested in undertaking work experience at Bursledon Infant & Junior School:

If you require any assistance or support with the steps outlined, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Step 1: Submit an Enquiry

Please complete the enquiry form via this link.

Step 2: Confirmation of Availability

If placements are available, we will request a confirmation letter from the student’s school or college to verify their suitability for work experience. For students aged 16 and over, a work experience bridging letter will also be sent. Once all safeguarding checks are completed, we will confirm the work experience placement.

Step 3: Attend an Induction Meeting

The student will need to attend an induction meeting.
