Wellbeing-Warriors
Bursledon Federation Wellbeing Warriors are a group of children who believe that the wellbeing of everyone in the school is fundamental to happiness and positive mental health. They meet regularly to share ideas, raise concerns, and discuss ways to promote wellbeing across the school community.
The Warriors actively promote the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, which are at the heart of their work:
The 5 Ways to Wellbeing
- Connect – Talk, listen, be there, and feel connected.
- Be Active – Do what you can, enjoy what you do, and move your mood.
- Take Notice – Notice the world around you and remember the simple things that bring joy.
- Keep Learning – Embrace new experiences, seek opportunities, and surprise yourself.
- Give – Give your time, your words, and your presence.
The Role of the Wellbeing Warriors
Our Wellbeing Warriors have an important role within Bursledon Federation of Schools. During break and lunchtime, they are present and visible on the playground so that children can easily seek them out if they would like to talk, need support, or simply want some quiet companionship.
The Wellbeing Warriors Aim To:
- Change the way we think and act about how we feel – supporting good mental health for all.
- Understand and accept that everyone experiences different feelings, and that it is okay to not be okay.
- Support others in making positive choices, while recognising they cannot solve every problem.
- Listen to others and provide a safe space for children to talk about how they are feeling.
- Be respectful and non‑judgemental at all times.
