Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium / Disadvantaged Pupils
The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It’s designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers.
Our Disadvantaged/Pupil Premium leader works throughout the year tracking, analysing and ensuring that strategies, systems and processes are having the best possible impact. The way in which the school spends the grant is reviewed regularly and the aim for all pupils is to make excellent progress. Our PP link Governor is Charlotte Goodson.

We believe in consistently communicating our high expectations for our disadvantaged pupils. We truly believe that all pupils have the potential to succeed and the Bursledon Federation will help all pupils to achieve their full potential. We expect commitment from staff and pupils alike to ensure we are giving children equality (providing everyone with the same amount of resources regardless of whether everyone needs them) but for some pupils we must give equity (when resources are shared based on what each person needs in order to adequately level the playing field).
